Carol Steinbeck Record Collection

Journal Issues List

Richard Hayman Collection
In 2004, Richard Hayman, a lifetime Steinbeck scholar and collector, donated his collection of Steinbeck books and memorabilia to the Steinbeck Center at SJSU. The Richard Hayman Collection [pdf] features playbills programs, and brochures from Steinbeck events, as well as unique editions of his fiction.
Virginia Scardigli Collection
This Virginia Scardigli Collection [pdf] is primarily composed of correspondence from Edward Ricketts, John Steinbeck, and others; it also includes early draft typescripts of "The Philosophy of Breaking Through" by Edward Ricketts, an introduction for The Sea of Cortez, among others.
Video Collection
This collection contains video recordings related to Steinbeck’s fiction, life, and scholarly impact. This Video Collection [pdf] includes, but is not limited to, panel discussions, lectures, documentaries, films, and plays.
